Single Layer is a single sheet of metal and is a non insulated door Double Layer is a single sheet of metal with polystyrene and NO steelback and is considered an insulated door Triple Layer - Polystyrene is a steel front and steel back with a polystyrene core (R Value 10) Triple Layer - Polyeurthane is a steel front and steel back with a Polyeurthane core (R Value 12 - 18) See the R Value Chart for more on R Values Most residential garage doors use a standard 12 or 15 inch radius lift. Sometimes a low head room set up is required due to limited head space.
Standard Lift - 12 or 15 inch radius included in all garage door installs. Low Headroom Set up - Additional charge based on height of door. 7 and 8 ft tall doors add $85 High Lift - Typically used on commercial doors but has become increasing popular on residential doors. Price based on size of door and amount of high lift needed. Typical 16 x 7 residential door around $300 to $500.
